Exhibition Management:Oversee and facilitate the organization and design of 2 exhibitions per semester by AGBSs Curator of Art and guest curators, including faculty, alumni, and Black Studies students, as well as annual rotation of artworks from the AGBS collection in the Gordon-White Building. Perform similar duties as needed for loan and/or travelling exhibitions and programs in collaboration with Curator of Art and Executive Director. Work with curators, artists, and lenders. Write and administer exhibition contracts, visiting artist contracts, and loan agreements with lenders in accordance with UT policies and procedures; work withcontracts office to vet agreements and with Financial Manager for Black Studies to manage payments. Arrange for transportation of artwork. Oversee production of all printed materials and design for exhibitions and publications with Black Studies Graphic Designer and Communications Manager. Manage the installation and de-installation of exhibitions and hiring of contract installers; the framing, shipping, and storage of artwork; and the development and timely execution of exhibition timelines.Budget and Operations Management:Oversee AGBS operational budget with Executive Director. Create and monitor operational and project budgets with Black Studies Financial Manager, and create and implement operational policies. Collection Care: Carefor and maintain location of works of art that are part of exhibitions, part of the AGBS collection, and/or on loan, including maintaining the existing database software that monitors the AGBS collection and tracks each works location. Work with Curator of Art to process acquisitions for the collection, including creating contracts, purchase orders, organizing shipping, perform condition reports, and coordinating payment for the works. Help organize the hanging of artwork from the collection in GWB every summer with Curator of Art.AGBS Programs and Events:Facilitate team efforts carried out by AGBS staff in their organization and coordination of educational and community programming related to exhibitions.Ensure staff accountability for participation in organizing and executing AGBS events, understanding Executive Directors priority that exhibition openings and closings constitute all hands-on deck gallery events, i.e., all AGBS staff are expected to participate.
