Academic Clinical Pathologist/Clinical Informatics

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time academic Clinical Pathologist with expertise in Informatics based in the Grady Health System. Grady Health System consists of Grady Memorial Hospital, a large public academic hospital, and several neighborhood clinics that serve Atlanta and the surrounding community. The health system is the site of internationally recognized centers of excellence for infectious disease, burns, stroke, and sickle cell disease. The Grady Health System clinical laboratories comprise a broad scope of laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, immunology, molecular pathology, hematology, flow cytometry, coagulation, urinalysis, blood banking, transfusion medicine, and point of care testing. The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine of Emory University is one of the largest training centers for pathologists in the United States, and offers unique and exciting teaching, clinical service, and research environments.

We seek a clinical pathologist with expertise in informatics at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to join an interactive, collegial group of faculty. The successful candidate will lead the assessment of clinical workflow through the Grady Health System, including test utilization patterns, and must be proficient in clinical laboratory data management and able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in developing informatics based approaches to improve patient management. Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record system is preferred. Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to teaching at the professional and graduate levels.

Applicants must hold MD or MD/PhD degrees and be board eligible or certified in Clinical Pathology and also be eligible for medical licensure in Georgia. Fellowship training in informatics or substantial data science experience is highly desirable. Compensation and faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
