Jacobs Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP)/Technical for an anticipated USAID Award in Jakarta, Indonesia

Your Impact:

The DCOP/Tech will oversee effective coordination and technical integration of activities during project implementation. The DCOP/Tech will support the overall technical vision of the program and ensure quality and timely achievement of all project outcomes. The DCOP/Tech will liaise with all partners as needed. The DCOP will report to the Chief of Party (COP). The offer is contingent on the project Award.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning, coordination, and day-to-day implementation of the project technical activities in partnership with the technical team and the COP;

  • Provide technical expertise and support annual work planning and adaptive management of the project as needed in accordance with the project’s objectives and targets;

  • Assist in coordinating project implementation, providing support to personnel and subcontractor management, and efficient budgeting and financial management, as needed;

  • Ensure coordination between project teams;

  • Liaise with the Monitoring and Evaluation lead to evaluate and document project progress and lessons learned;

  • Assume responsibility for quality assurance, control and timeliness of technical deliverables;

  • Serve as the interim COP when necessary.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing relevant projects related to urban planning, climate resilience/Adaptation, and/or institutional capacity development;

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in international relations, urban planning or a relevant discipline;

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams;

  • Proven track record managing and coordinating collaborations among stakeholders at national-level governments, the private sector, and local organizations while fostering collaborative learning and adaptive management, and social inclusion;

  • Experience in hiring and supervising of host country local personnel, mentoring and growing staff to meet program needs;

  • Experience working in Indonesia is highly desired;

  • Experience implementing/leading USAID projects or other USG donor-funded projects with a contractor or international NGO;

  • Position likely based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with significant regular domestic travel expected;

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa is a plus;
