Job Summary The Supervisor (Warehouse) is responsible for supervision and performance of tasks involving warehouse operations, including loading, material handling, and processing activities. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager. Job Responsibilities Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff Assigning daily tasks and evaluating the work of the subordinates Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities Interviewing and recruiting employees and organizing on the job training activities Ensuring the safety of all workers in the warehouse as per Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms Inspecting and overseeing the inventory records of the warehouse and keeping track of all inbound and outbound materials Regularly inspecting and ensuring the maintenance of all warehouse equipment and machinery Making inventory and evaluation reports pertaining to the warehouse Other related duties as assigned Qualifications Prior supervisory experience required Strong knowledge of material processing and warehousing Excellent organizational and communication skills Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience in the metals service center industry, or successful completion of related rotational management training program Associates degree preferred, High School diploma / GED required Basic computer skills and experience with web-based management tools and MS Office Suite Leadership, motivation, and interpersonal communication skills Process management Excellent problem-solving skills Able to manage multiple priorities at one time Experience in the metals processing / distribution industry
