Department Of Energy Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is part of the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical management, oversight of innovative national-level projects, and general intelligence expertise to Counterintelligence (CI) Directorate elements at Headquarters and field offices across the laboratories, plants, and sites. Responsibilities As a full performance Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will: Oversee and direct major intelligence inputs in support of research and development policy for Department of Energy and other customers in the US government, including the intelligence community. Serve as an authority and provide overall advise to the program managers in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a foreign technology advances. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work Formulate and implement counterintelligence engagement strategies with divisions, field offices, directorates and others. Adhere to budgetary and financial management principles and techniques and applies to long term planning to meet Cl program objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Setting goals and deadlines to ensuring that the final product meets or surpasses the set standards. Assisting with counterintelligence budget to guarantee thorough tracking and timely payments for counterintelligence operations. Collaborating with leadership to identify obstacles in intra-directorate mission execution and provide suggestions for improvement. Examining the operational procedures within the directorate and seeks ways to streamline or enhance their efficiency. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. While Time-in-Grade is not applicable, employees that hold excepted service positions are expected to have a minimum of 1 yr (52 weeks) of quality experience at the next lower grade level before receiving a promotion to a higher grade level.
