Chenega Analytic Business Solutions (CABS) provides federal agencies and commercial customers with trusted insights into Records and Information Management, Administrative Solutions, Information Technology, Engineering, and Training. Formed in 2017 to serve federal and commercial customers, CABS is 8(a) certified and has grown quickly into a leader in the federal IT and Training environment.

The IT Specialist shall perform all duties about Desktop Systems Administrations including but not limited to Operating Systems support such as Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as "customer advocate" within GVSC.

  • Answer phone and in-person inquiries from a wide variety of customers.

  • Personally respond or refer customers to appropriate resources for response to inquiries or resolution of problems, logging all significant events into a database and coordinating problem resolution as necessary.

  • Utilize database information to identify and report on trends in user requests and requirements.

  • Regularly review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding application and desktop software and hardware development, utilization, and purchases based on GVSC’s Acquisition, Logistics, and Business Management policies.

  • Provide recommendations to customers, other team members, and management based on independent research and technical evaluation of available functional and standard programming equipment and networking capabilities taking test results and available performance reports into account.

  • Support COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) applications.

  • Work with application support and other specialists to prioritize and accomplish assigned tasks associated with Functional Application/Customer Service Center functions.

  • Take a primary role in analyzing trends in the nature and level of demands for organizational services.

  • Utilize acquired knowledge to balance user requirements, available resources, and organizational goals and objectives while striving to maintain top-quality customer service.

  • Serve as a journeyman-level team member providing input regarding chronic and/or unique customer problems encountered or concerns voiced.

  • Keep team members apprised of new developments in GVSC business applications as well as hardware and software.

  • Work with other team members to identify and eliminate chronic computer problems and share "lessons learned" with other computer specialists within and outside the organization/installation and assist and educate GVSC customers with business processes.

  • Participate in formulating and implementing innovative techniques for achieving and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in conjunction with organizational effectiveness.

  • Use knowledge of Information Technology (IT) concepts, principles, and methods to perform analysis and provide solutions to multiple IT problems.

  • Utilize databases to track significant issues and events to facilitate trend analysis and customer business needs.

  • Accomplish technical, analytical, and advisory functions pertinent to the development of local policies, development of short and long-range IT planning, and associated processes.

  • Complete annual company and customer-required training, as required.

  • Complete timesheets daily in an online system according to company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in the field of study.

  • CompTIA A+ CE certification, Network+ CE certification, or Security+ CE certification along with Microsoft Windows 10 certification required.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Secret clearance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Ability to multi-task in a high-stress, performance-based environment.

  • Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.

  • Ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as requested.

  • Ability to coordinate and integrate the work activities of several different projects at any one time.

  • Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding application and desktop software and hardware development.

  • Must have journeyman-level working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Office suite and Outlook).

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft OS and common applications.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Linux OS.

  • Travel up to 10% as required.
