Staff System Engineer

Job Description

The Staff Systems Engineer is a key player ensuring product safety for our automotive customers. They will apply ISO 26262, within a multi­disciplinary engineering team that develops power ICs for the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ISO26262 requirements are met throughout the power product development phases.

  • Communicate and coordinate with Customer Safety Engineers.

  • Interpret customer safety requirements.

  • Develop Assumption of Use (AoU) based on system and safety architecture

  • Develop and review the IC safety architectures

  • Derive the Functional and Technical Safety Concepts and requirements for product (FSC, TSC, FSR, TSR).

  • Perform the product safety analyses (e.g. Qualitative failure mode analysis, common cause failure analysis, FMEDA, and FTA).

  • Define system test cases based on AoU for verification and validation of safety requirements.

  • Generate Functional Safety Work Products that meet ISO26262 Work Product quality requirements in accordance with Renesas development process

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO26262 standards for power IC and hardware development

  • Experience as functional safety manager for power IC and/or hardware

  • Excellent knowledge of analog & digital electronic circuits

  • Knowledge of semiconductor IC design flows & tools (analog/digital/Mixed Signal)

  • Knowledge of the principles of Systems and Safety Engineering per ISO 26262

  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Spice

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Rigorous problem solving skills

  • Flexible & Agile

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
