You ensure quality in the factory and are responsible for meeting quality targets. You are fully responsible for the people, machinery and the identification and elimination of quality losses and problems in the department. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinates departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the plant manager with dotted line responsibility to corporate quality.

How you will contribute

You will ensure that all quality objectives, goals and targets in the factory (including regional and global commitments) are met. You will develop and track your department’s budget and eliminate losses. With your team, you will conduct regular plan-do-act-check assessments to plan how targets will be met, executing the plan and periodically checking and taking action to stay on track. In addition, you will ensure that there is strict adherence with all appropriate laws, food safety quality standards and consumer requirements of all manufactured products and manage crisis situations internally and externally in ways that support the company’s image, policies and business. As a people leader, you are responsible for recruitment and structuring of the department to ensure there are sufficient resources to deliver on plant objectives, set and assess performance goals, and coach and mentor team members.

What you need to know about this position:

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Systems Manager is responsible for the sites Quality and Sanitation programs. Specifically this role will be responsible for the quality assurance, quality control and sanitations policies, people and programs.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Acts as the primary FSSC (ISO 22000) Management Representative and drives continuous improvement of the Quality Management System

  • Establishes site quality and sanitation programs based on Mondelez standards and requirements and ensures implementation across the site and integration into current practices

  • Monitors consumer complaints driving reductions in total complaints and ensuring plans are developed to focus on key dissatisfier reduction

  • Provides technical support to Conversion, Business Development and Continuous Improvement teams in the trouble shooting of production and/or packaging problems.

  • Participates as the Quality Lead for engineering projects, ensuring quality and sanitation requirements are satisfied during the change management process

  • Prepares the site for ISO, Quality and Customer audits ensuring programs are in place, audits are resourced and corrective actions plans are developed and completed

  • Ensures required Quality training is identified, scheduled and completed for employees at all levels

  • Enhances knowledge and skill levels in key scientific/technical areas and other functional groups within the Company.

  • Compliance to in process checks, Quality related activity and FG analysis & verification

  • Ensure compliance of PAPAs

  • Responsibility of Legal & Regulatory compliance at all levels

  • Collaborating with RDQ for various new initiatives on Process improvement, Productivity and NPD trails.

  • Work towards Consumer compliant reduction action plan and lead its root cause analysis

  • Coordinate the investigation, RCA and action plans for Quality Non- conformities and Incident

  • Responsible for food safety compliance at all level

  • Drive all pest control activities for site

  • Responsible for implementation of QP compliances and upcoming changes at shop floor

  • Building capability for QP requirements, Quality checks and QM pillar work process

  • Ensure Hold and Release, FEFO, rework management and reduction, Traceability and flavor/PDR room operations.

  • Ensure adherence to Sanitation program requirements including periodic & routine hygiene schedule for infra & equipment, cleaning SOP, cleaning tools maintenance, etc. as per SOP

  • Lead QM pillar and work process adherence for site

  • Ensure closer of action points for quality related loss projects

  • Implementation of Manufacturing Standards and FPPDR at shop floor

  • Responsible for Q points tracking and compliance on IQS

  • Ensure quality culture at shop floor for hourly & Salary pool

  • Ensure documentation of all quality related requirements and reporting data

  • Leading Function DMS, Quality review and meetings and represent in DMS 2 /3/4

Education / Certifications:

  • University Graduate in Food or Life Science

  • 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance and control in a food manufacturing environment
