The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team! * *

The Maintenance Technician II* *works independently on preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance for the building, building support systems, and membership program equipment. The Maintenance Technician II is also responsible for performing custodial and grounds-keeping tasks as necessary to maintain a clean and pleasing appearance of the building.
*Key Responsibilities: *
- Perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, its support systems and program equipment
- Operate and maintain the swimming and hydrotherapy pools at functioning levels
- Operate and maintain the heating and air conditioning systems to ensure member satisfaction
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance repairs as needed
- Maintain product inventory listings, Material Safety Data Sheets
- Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
Are you a good fit?
- Five years' experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or other specialty skill areas. Demonstrated excellent skills and the ability to work independently and provide leadership with specific tasks.
- Vocational/Technical certifications preferred.
- An intermediate understanding of buildings and the operation and maintenance of building systems.
- Knowledge of safe and correct operation of the equipment, procedures, and techniques to perform the required tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Knowledge of pool maintenance and operation, safety regulations and possession of a pool operator's certification. If not in possession of one, have the ability to obtain one as soon as the training course is available.
- Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, and coordination of workload.
Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
*Wage: *$21.49 to $23.49 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
