The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced impact-oriented individuals to join HP's Corporate Strategy group. This team of professionals have high visibility across HP and is regarded as a seeding ground for HP's future leaders. We work as a meritocracy that appeals to and rewards high achievers. Your success paves the way for a rewarding career within Corporate Strategy or facilitated entry into one of HP's businesses. The Corporate Strategy team aims to drive disproportionate growth for HP. You will do so by assessing portfolio strategy opportunities for HP, as well as identifying and evaluating market segments, products, and business models that drive HP's growth in current, emerging, and new opportunity areas.

As part of this team, you will leverage your prior experience in top-tier management consulting, high profile corporate strategy and the tech industry to influence the strategic direction for HP. You will help drive business cases and strategic recommendations for our core and growth businesses and deliver data-driven, insightful recommendations to HP's management team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with executives on strategic issues in a highly entrepreneurial environment.

This role will have significant interaction across HP Business Units, Functions and executive ranks. A successful leader in this role must drive for impact with integrity, seek stakeholder-focused solutions, and bring a balance to long- and short-term priorities. The person must be able to work in a collaborative environment; be a self-starter and thrive in an ambiguous, constantly evolving, intense environment of shared accountability.

Work locations include Houston (TX) and Palo Alto (CA). Qualified applicants will be contacted in concert with positions within HP at those levels.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes

  • Assess portfolio strategy opportunities and make recommendations orientated towards disproportionate growth.

  • Drive multiple key strategic projects across functions and business segments that have enterprise-wide implications Be a thought leader and influencer at the most senior levels within HP.

  • Drive continuous engagement with the executive leadership team, functional leaders, and business unit leaders on strategy formulation and consensus building.

  • Apply structured problem solving and deliver data-driven, synthesized insights to support actionable strategy and recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively and effectively across a global matrix organization to build alignment and ensure successful execution.

  • Demonstrate superior strategic and analytical skills with ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations.

  • Use intellectual agility and superior written and verbal communication to develop presentations, facilitate discussions, and simplify and clearly communicate complex concepts.

  • Actively contribute to building skills and talent, and creating a 'fun' culture, as we build a world class growth strategy team.

  • Lead and influence in a team setting, including extended teams.

Education and Experience

  • MBA or demonstrable equivalent

  • 6+ years total experience. 2+ years post MBA experience leading projects, products, deals etc. At least 3+ years' experience in a top tier management consulting firm

  • Experience gained in a variety of leadership roles (informal or formal) including time spent in both strategy and product roles.

  • Experience in the Tech industry, including software, XaaS, managed services offerings and/or subscription-based business models and solutions go-to-market.

  • Ideal candidate will have experience gained at regional and global levels.

  • The individual should have a track record of driving change and transformation, particularly around growth, and have demonstrated experience in large scale project execution.

  • Should have the ability and desire to take on broad strategic operational assignments as part of future development.

  • Experience presenting to senior executive audiences.

Per the California statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in the California location , at the time of this posting, is $170,000 to $210,000 USD/year. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
