Amazon Business Analyst - Amazon Grocery Logistics - CXO Strategy & Planning, Customer Experience Operations in Seattle, Washington

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the Customer Experience Operations (CXO) team. The CXO business provides a best in class attended parcel returns and pickup experience for Amazon customers. We do this by operating and supporting our own network of locations, while also providing operational support services to other 1P and 3P pickup and returns providers and stakeholders. The CXO portfolio of locations includes but is not limited to spaces inside Whole Foods Markets, stores in select higher education campuses, and retail locations around major metro areas.

As a Business Analyst with CXO, you will work closely with other stakeholders (finance, operations, program and product managers), and will join a rapidly growing business, covering both North America and our upcoming expansion in the EU.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets and distributed computing technologies. The candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. He/she is an expert with data modeling, ETL design and business intelligence tools, has hand-on knowledge on columnar databases such as Redshift and other related AWS technologies. He/she passionately partners with the customers to identify strategic opportunities in the field of data engineering and analytics. He/she is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail) and enjoys working in a fast-paced team that continuously learns and evolves on a day to day basis.

Finally, to be successful in this role, you must exhibit the ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making through data and analytics, and collaborate with executives through excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of Seattle, WA, and offer relocation package.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and developing complex analytics models and data-sets for deep dive

• Identifying data quality issues across the various platforms at Amazon

• Extracting and combining data from various heterogeneous data sources

• Design and build data visualization tools to provide scalable solution for self-service metrics reporting

• Partnering with other analysts and engineers to build analytical solutions to deliver on business goals

• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams

• Propose and implement new business metrics for senior management reviews and work with the data engineer to design and develop data infrastructure to support these metrics for business growth

• Build statistical models and ML based algorithms to perform insight analysis and help in decision making

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience with Excel

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

  • Experience in scripting languages like Python

  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
