Job Summary

The MBA programs at the University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business, is seeking a talented, energetic professional to provide student services support and recruiting and admissions support in a professional, customer-focused, and results-driven environment. We are passionate about events, hospitality, and giving premier customer service to our students and are looking for an employee who shares that passion.

The Events & Student Experience Coordinator oversees programming and events for MBA programs. This position requires high autonomy and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Strong skills in building customer relationships, time management, response time, and accuracy are vital to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

Events and Student Experience:

  • Coordinate class days. Responsibilities may include interacting with MBA students, supporting faculty before and during class days with academic needs, catering, and a willingness to perform all necessary tasks required to provide students with a world-class experience.

  • Plan, implement, and ensure the quality of MBA class days by communicating with and making appropriate arrangements for the faculty and arranging logistics for the students, including meals, IT and equipment, course materials, and any issues related to student needs for class.

  • Serve as a resource for MBA students to answer questions and advise on issues associated with all program components.

  • Plan and implement student and alumni events as required. i.e., orientation, networking events, graduation, guest speakers, etc.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed event records to enhance/improve subsequent events.

  • Work with the manager on evaluation for events, new programs, and other projects as assigned.

  • Responsible for budget tracking, reconciling bills, and billing them to the appropriate account.

Recruiting & Admissions

  • Assist with recruiting and admissions. This includes significant interpersonal communication to discuss program details with prospective students over the phone, via email, and in person.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

2 years’ of related experience.

Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
