We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Quality Manager within our Quality team to help support our Hydraulics business. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets. What will you do as a Quality Manager?

  • Overall responsibility for the development of an environment focussed on Quality.

  • Responsible for continued compliance to ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 3834-2 & the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU; embedding the methodology throughout the business.

  • Undertakes external audits by certification bodies to ensure continued compliance to ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 3834-2 & the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU.

  • Overall responsibility for the PHC, UK QMS (Quality Management System).

  • Ensures overall business-wide compliance to the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Responsible for ensuring all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of stakeholders and external certification bodies.

  • Develops, implements, and manages KPI’s for appropriate areas of responsibility.

  • Reports against agreed quality metrics, on a monthly basis, to the General Manager and the Leggett and Platt Group, providing a breakdown of the Cost of Poor Quality.

  • Reports against agreed quality metrics, on a daily basis, to the General Manager, Senior Management Team, and all other interested parties.

  • Works proactively with Managers, Supervisors and Employees to maintain and improve quality standards within their area of responsibility.

  • Leads the quality team to achieve quality targets & business goals for all stakeholders.

  • Overall responsibility for the PHC, UK audit programme.

  • Overall responsibility for the PHC, UK Gauge Calibration process.

  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with stakeholders to maximise quality assurance performance and standards.

  • Manages a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Technicians

  • Overall responsibility for the technical review of manufactured & purchased parts and the resolution of internal/external quality concerns.

  • Overall responsibility for formal responses to customer complaints, providing containment actions, full analysis, poka-yoke (where applicable) and implementing short-term & long-term countermeasures.

  • Point of contact for all Warranty related issues.

  • Works both internally and with other stakeholders on product and process validation via the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

  • Ensures all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements, external audit requirements and business goals.

  • Conducts risk assessments of product/processes via PFMEA or equivalent, in collaboration with other departments.

  • Any other tasks required to meet the needs of the business.

    To be successful you'll need:

  • Minimum 5 Years in a Quality related Managerial position.

  • Experience of 1st, 2nd & 3rd party audits essential.

  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

  • Comprehensive understanding of problem-solving methodology such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why analysis etc.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings with an appreciation of GD&T principles.

  • Valid Passport for international travel.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 3834-2.

  • Working knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU.

  • Basic appreciation of MAG welding.

  • General understanding of manufacturing processes such as turning, milling & skiving.

  • Basic appreciation of finishing processes such as Wet Painting.

  • As PHC, UK products are distributed globally, international travel will be required, when necessary to meet business needs.
