Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into an advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.

The Azure Event Grid is a rapidly growing product and enables reliable message delivery at massive scale. Our product is a fully managed pub-sub message broker that is used by customers for real-time notification and alerting, optimizing operations through automation, and developing rich integrated solutions. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join us and lead new features roadmap and development to enable real-time event-driven solutions. Responsibilities

  • Build product strategy and priorities for Azure Event Grid.

  • Work closely with external and internal customers to understand their requirements and translate them into high quality specs.

  • Inspire and drive engineering and operational excellence across the organization.

  • Work in a cross functional and collaborative role spanning several teams such as product, UX design, engineering, marketing, sales, and support.

  • Partner with the marketing and business teams to identify target customers, value propositions, customer promises, and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Background in building features for developer-oriented cloud service.

  • Experience in defining product roadmap, strategy and go-to market plans for an enterprise grade product.

  • Technical aptitude with an understanding of developer-facing tools and services.

  • Ability to define customer-focused scenarios, author functional specifications and work with partner teams to ensure that scenarios are delivered end-to-end.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and across disciplines as a contributor.

  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar IT/engineering discipline, MBA.

  • Experience creating quality customer-facing product documentation, tutorials, and usage examples.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
