BYU Social Media PR Coordinator in PROVO, Utah

Job Summary

Support the arts and communications students at BYU! Come manage our social media team in a PR agency university setting. We are looking for an organized, self-driven individual to coordinate campaign strategy, work with clients and manage the External Relations social media team for the College of Fine Arts and Communications.

 

* Essential Functions:*

Coordination

  • Assist with coordination between internal and external academic units
  • Manage student employees in the External Relations Office 
  • Work with Assistant dean to pitch ideas to University Communications

Social Media Management

  • Assist and manage the student social media team
  • Manage campaigns like Faith+Works, Arts@BYU, #ExperienceCFAC and more
  • Support growth, content and strategy of college social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram (Threads) and X (Twitter)
  • Create analytics reports
  • Collaborate with External Relations teams

Communications Support

  • Hiring and recruiting
  • Assist with branding, managing and messaging within the college

      

Education/Experience/Skills

Minimum required:  

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated social media management and analytics skills
  • History of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent time management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to supervise student employees 
  • Well-developed organizational, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work well with others and feel comfortable speaking in front of a group
  • Proficient in database and spreadsheet software use (Word and Excel)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Leadership experience
  • Knowledge of email newsletter programs, specifically MailChimp
  • Experience with project management systems such as Basecamp or Slack
  • Experience using Adobe programs, such as Premiere Pro 
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

                                                                                                                                        

The award-winning College of Fine Arts and Communications External Relations team writes all of the event press releases, assists in marketing production, creates and supports all websites, works on campaigns relating to the college and university and assists the college dean. The team also manages and oversees the college's social media pages, as well as th e School of Communications, Department of Dance, Department of Theatre and Media Arts and the School of Music social media accounts.
