The Associate Director, Global Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) Communications will play a critical role in leading communications related to inclusion and diversity initiatives and supporting the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer in driving a culture of inclusion throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • I&D Communications Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive I&D communications strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with the I&D team to define key messages, stakeholders and communication priorities related to inclusion and diversity.

  • Ensure that I&D communications are aligned with the organization's brand, values, culture and narrative across our People Business and Resource Groups (PBRGs).

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in I&D communications, bringing innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the organization's communication efforts.

  • Internal and External Communications:

  • Lead the development and implementation of internal and external communications plans to promote inclusion and diversity initiatives.

  • Create compelling and engaging content for across a variety of communication channels.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights for I&D communications.

  • Communicate the value of I&D as key business driver, integrating I&D across functions, systems, processes.

  • Align with Purpose team on I&D components of environmental, social and governance (ESG).

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team to ensure consistent I&D messaging to potential job candidates.

  • Executive Communications Support:

  • Support the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer in developing and delivering executive-level communications.

  • Assist in preparing presentations, talking points, etc. for internal and external events.

  • Provide strategic counsel and guidance on effective messaging and communication approaches.

  • Guide thought-leadership and channels for sharing key messages.

  • Internal Communications Alignment:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing guidance and support on I&D communication matters.

  • Provide strategic communications support for PBRG activities, including heritage months internally/externally (events, social media, etc.) in line with other company initiatives.

  • Share key I&D events and communications with internal communications editorial calendar to ensure the best timing within the organization and for receipt by colleagues.

  • Measurement and Reporting:

  • Establish metrics and measurement frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of I&D communications initiatives.

  • Analyze data and feedback to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on the impact of I&D communications efforts.

  • Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, PBRGs and communications partners.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather insights, align messaging, and ensure effective communication of I&D initiatives.

  • Align with Purpose team on I&D components of ESG.

  • Manage external partners/vendors as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in communications, with a focus on inclusion & diversity communications.

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt accessible content for different audiences and channels.

  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.

  • Acute business acumen and a deep understanding of strategies for embedding I&D in communications to strengthen the culture.

  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and counterparts at all levels of the company, both within the Corporate Communications team and across the larger matrixed organization.

  • Self-directed with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple initiatives with competing priorities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree a plus.
