THE POSITION

Are you a hardworking and dependable dental assistant who is looking for exceptional part-time work? The Department of Human Services, Selinsgrove Center is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join our dental team! The primary purpose of this position is scheduling, coordinating, and assisting with dental services at the center. We are located in a nice rural location just outside the borough and only a couple of minutes from town, area Schools, and Susquehanna University. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Duties include assisting the Staff Dentist in providing dental evaluations, recalls, and treatments to all the people who live at the center. You also direct and implement scheduling of dental appointments. This includes assisting individuals in the process of scheduling their own appointments and coordinating appointments for people who are scheduled for dental treatment by outside contractors. In addition, you assist in providing techniques to maintain good oral hygiene to the individuals who live at the center as well as clinical staff who assist the individuals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, 22.5 hours weekly

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday to Thursday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or

  • Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training .

Special Requirement:

  • Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry
