Kelly Services Senior Controls Engineer in Orlando, Florida

Kelly Engineering is thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer for our client in the theme park industry located in Orlando, FL. In this role you will focus on design safety and functional safety systems codes ISO12100, ISO13849, and ISO6261. As a pivotal member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of Show Control Systems within the theme park industry. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of projects, from specification and design to installation and acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, ride engineers, and various departments to comprehend project requirements, design criteria, and operational objectives.

  • Develop comprehensive system specifications and engineering design documents, emphasizing safety and compliance with industry standards.

  • Oversee the bid/award process to ensure vendors meet project specifications and safety requirements.

  • Provide technical supervision during fabrication and installation, ensuring adherence to design criteria and safety standards.

  • Develop and implement acceptance test procedures to verify that systems meet operational goals and safety standards.

  • Knowledge of functional safety systems codes ISO12100, ISO13849, and ISO6261

  • Liaise with vendors to address technical challenges and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

  • Maintain project schedules and budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Offer technical support to park operations teams for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Show Control Systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, fabricating, installing, and testing Control Systems in industries such as theme parks, entertainment, or heavy manufacturing (Oil & Gas experience encouraged to apply).

  • Proficient in project management, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Expertise in PLC programming, network communication, and control system integration.

  • Thorough understanding of safety standards and regulations governing amusement rides and attractions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, adept at troubleshooting complex systems.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
