Vanderbilt University Study/Lab Coordinator in Nashville, Tennessee

Position Summary:

The Emotion & Anxiety Lab seeks a full-time Term Study coordinator/Lab coordinator. This individual will support and manage two trauma-related projects, including participant recruitment and scheduling; data collection from human subjects, managing IRB amendments; and drafting and revising study protocols. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing the lab's day-to-day operations. Lab management duties are primarily administrative and organizational: data management, preparation of forms/documents in accordance with appropriate policies/procedures, proofreading/editing, schedule management, recruitment and onboarding of new lab members, maintenance of the lab website, and resource coordination with relevant university departments. Additional organizational/management duties include: training, supervising, and evaluating undergraduate lab members and their research progress; drafting/maintaining standard operating procedures and training protocols; applying independent judgment/decision-making in the completion of tasks and assignments; creating meeting agendas and presentations; and performing background research

About the Work Unit:

The internationally renowned Department of Psychology houses several award-winning professors who are distinguished scholars in their respective fields and who are dedicated to providing world-class education and training to our undergraduate and graduate students. While our course curriculum encompasses all of the sub-disciplines of Psychology, the research of our faculty centers around three major areas: Clinical Science, Cognition and Cognitive Neurosciences, and Neuroscience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Participant and Recruitment scheduling

  • Manage IRB amendments

-Drafting and revising study protocols

-Administrative and organizational lab management duties

-Maintenance of lab website

-Recruitment and Onboarding of new lab members

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have a supervisory role.

Education and Certifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary

Experience and Skills:

  • Very organized and high attention to detail

  • Tech-savy and a quick learner of new technologies

  • Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lead/organize others

-Professional, positive and flexible attitude

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize, as well as work independently under minimal supervision or as part of a team

  • Experience with Data Management and Statistical software
