Murray State University Project Director in Murray, Kentucky

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a full-time, twelve month position with initial grant through September 2028 with potential for grant continuation.

The Project Director coordinates activities for the Department of Energy grant regarding Site Repurposing, Annual Site Environmental Report ( ASER ) Summary, Public Outreach on the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Site and Public Outreach for Education and Training Opportunities.

  • Initiate work with high schools.

  • Manage and administer each of the funded discrete activities.

  • Prepare quarterly progress and budget reports and monthly invoices.

  • Prepare Annual Status Reports.

  • Prepare proposals for Budget Periods 2, 3, 4, and 5.

  • Sponsor quarterly project progress meetings.

  • Incorporate funded discrete activities into a Scientific and Technical Symposium, which includes presentations summarizing project results. This symposium can be held virtually or in person.

  • Support the development and maintenance of a MSU website, including a MSU library of reports completed under this financial assistance award.

  • Ensure reports developed under this project are delivered and submitted with the appropriate DOE F231 (available at www.osti.gove/elink) to DOE’s OSTI .

  • Provide, on an as needed basis, short-term technical and subject matter expert ( SME ) support.

  • Prepare presentations for regulatory and public meetings and attend and/or present at these meetings as requested by Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office.

  • Serve as a liaison for the four project activities to ensure completion of the work and the reports within the deadlines mandated.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Two years of experience with working with community groups/legislative units.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and reporting writing skills requiring data analysis.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, administrators, staff, community leaders, legislative leaders, granting agencies and economic development entities.

  • Demonstrated outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with website for reporting and marketing.

  • Demonstrated experience for multi-faceted repots requiring particular attention to strict deadlines.
