Atlantic Health System Internal Communication Specialist in Morristown, New Jersey

Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist. This role works in a matrix organization to support the development of powerful team member-focused communications, drive team member engagement, and promote medical center and system initiatives, events and activities. You will be a vital member of the corporate internal communications team reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Communications and partnering with teams across Atlantic Health System, including medical center presidents, chief medical offers, chief nursing officers and other site and system leaders.

Responsibilities

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in communications to collaborate on a variety of internal communications projects, with the following accountabilities:

  • Medical Center Leadership Communications: Support development of content and messages for AHS medical center presidents and other leaders using various internal channels and vechicles, ranging from e-newsletters and informational emails to assistance with posts and content development for Workplace (by Meta) and the AHS intranet (The Compass).

  • Team Member Communications: A critical audience is our 20,000+ team members across 400 + locations, including our medical centers (Morristown, Overlook, Chilton, Newton, Hackettstown). This individual is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that engage the team on system and medical center business strategies. The focus should be placed on creative communications strategies and materials that bring the AHS and individual medical center brands to life across multiple platforms.

  • Medical Center Branding: Develop communications that position Atlantic Health System's medical centers as organizations team members love to work for.

  • Live Events: Work with a cross-functional team, including medical center leadership, on promotion and content development for a variety of events.

    This accomplished individual will:

  • Have 3-5 years (minimum) of work experience developing and implementing effective communication plans and strategies, working with senior leaders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of developing and delivering multi-channel communications.

  • Exude a strong professional presence, with a proven track record of working with all levels of team members, from the front line to the C-suite.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This individual is a fast learner, enjoys problem-solving, and can collaborate across teams.

  • Be nimble, agile and willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.

  • Possess the ability to work confidently on multiple projects under tight deadlines while paying close attention to detail and quality.

  • Have a passion for communications, creative storytelling and brand awareness.

  • Have a keen understanding of current communications landscape. Tech and social media savvy in exploring different media/modes of communication to achieve communication objectives.

  • Have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5+ years' experience in a large matrix organization.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field.

    Relevant Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in internal communications, or related field.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Expert presentation skills, professional presence, and the ability to partner with colleagues at all levels.

  • Experience in copy-writing and editing.

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop preferred.

  • Proficiency with social media platforms such as Workplace by Facebook, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Twitter.
