ManTech SOC Lead in Mclean, Virginia

ManTech is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Team Lead in McLean, VA. As the SOC Lead, you will manage operations for a large Cyber Incident Response Team in the Intelligence Community. This position will allow you to mentor and lead a critical mission group that focuses on expertise, urgency, and communication. Our SOC Lead a critical stakeholder in advancing the nation's information security posture.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage a multi-shift team responsible for cyber threat detection and response

  • Support the CIRT Manager in developing or revising procedures

  • Develop live fire and tabletop exercises to sharpen the skills within your team

  • Participate in inter-agency relationships with partner organizations to facilitate mission execution

  • Innovate creative solutions to challenging problems

  • Develop and oversee execution of training & development programs

  • Communicate deficiencies within the operation related to procedure, skillsets, tools, and/or personalities to program and customer leadership, while proposing and adopting solutions

  • Mentor team on technical tradecraft and career development

  • Interview and provide hiring recommendations to program management

  • Develop and analyze KPI metrics to help illuminate effectiveness and quantify success

  • Perform as SOC subject matter expert for customer leadership, contract management, and onsite personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, Security Engineering, Network Engineering or other relevant technical field

  • Experience leading a team of 10 or more staff

  • Experience working in the intelligence community

  • Active/current TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cyber security operations, with an emphasis on computer incident response, systems architecture, data management

  • Familiarity with various classes of enterprise cyber defense technologies

  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, Yara, Snort, or similar languages

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study

Clearance requirement: Active/Current TS/SCI with polygraph

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
