UCLA Health Director of Pharmacy Benefits Management, Medicare Advantage in Los Angeles, California
Description
Join the dynamic team at the New Century Health Plan (NCHP)
as our Director of Pharmacy Benefits Management! Reporting directly to the
Chief Medical Officer of Medicare Advantage, you'll spearhead the development
and oversight of our pharmacy benefit management (PBM) business unit. In this
pivotal role, you'll craft and execute comprehensive marketing plans, establish
budgets, and define policies and procedures to drive the success of our PBM
initiatives.
Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of
PBM operations from assessment and planning to implementation and evaluation.
It will be your duty to ensure the financial health, service quality, and
operational efficiency of our pharmacy benefit programs. Collaboration will be
key, as you'll cultivate productive relationships and coordinate activities
both internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure adherence to
compliance requirements while optimizing costs.
Salary Range: $146,900 - $371,300/annually
Qualifications
We're seeking a self-motivated, results-driven leader with:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Pharmacist in a healthcare setting, required
Three or more years of Managed Care/PBM experience, highly desired
Two or more years of experience in Medicare programs, preferred
Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy, required
Possession of a current California State Board of Pharmacy pharmacist license, required
Previous experience in operations, data analysis, report development, or program development within the healthcare field, required
Comprehensive understanding and proficiency in all facets of pharmacy operations, with demonstration application of pharmacy knowledge within a health plan environment
Strong leadership capabilities, showcasing an adaptive approach to change and a track record of implementing innovative programs aligned with strategic objectives
Knowledgeable in PBM third-party billing, pharmacy claims processing, and pharmacy data management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Robust analytical and mathematical skills, including the ability to reconcile financial reports and data and identify trends in drug costs
