Description

The Facilities Maintenance technician's responsibilities will include helping to design and maintain PM schedules and performing regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all production and facilities equipment. The ideal candidate should have good troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. This position will reside at multiple locations in Lockport, NY.

Responsibilities Include:

· Troubleshooting root cause of equipment failures

· Communication needs for machine repairs to internal or external technician

· Follow all safety procedures and regulations and maintain a safe work environment.

· Observe repairs process for accuracy

· Order machine parts/supplies as needed via computer system

· Re-rule worn dies and order backup sets

· Observe the installation and setup of new manufacturing machinery to:

· Document & understand individual components of each machine

· Participate in training of the control systems for manufacturing machinery, performed by the external OEM technicians

· Identify, document and understand the preventative maintenance of new machinery’s daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis schedule

· Performing major and minor repairs on production and facilities equipment (Mechanical and Electrical)

· Design, fabricate, replace, or adapt parts as needed

· Facilities and grounds maintenance & repair

· Repair and maintain all in-house assembly equipment (PLC knowledge necessary)

· Running air lines and simple electric installation and repair

· Changing ballasts and light bulbs

· Changing oil filters on air compressors

· Plumbing-leaks, repairs, plugs, and installations

· Painting and drywall installation

· Some landscaping work, trimming trees, planting, and removing trees and watering

· Parking lot repair and maintenance-including asphalt and cement work

· Assist in building layout design and workstation design

· Building simple automated equipment for production

Requirements

· 2+ years diagnosing and repairing machine tools or equivalent experience

· Able to read engineering drawings. blueprints and schematics

· Preferred knowledge of PLC

· Excellent troubleshooting skills

· Must possess a high level of mechanical ability and aptitude

· Must be able to work occasional overtime

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to communicate and work with others

· Self-motivated, organized, and able to work well under deadlines

· High School Diploma or GED
