Eaton Corporation Tooling Supervisor 2nd Shift in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Tooling Supervisor 2nd Shift.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

The Tooling Supervisor will oversee all operations within Tooling area including to quality of production, managing and coordination of employees, maintaining safety regulations and monitoring daily production standards. Is responsible of executing the department’s strategy and building organizational capability to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Culture objectives through effective deployment of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and continuous improvement of key processes.

Essential Functions:

• Lead of Tool room employees, job assignments, paperwork requirements, performance management.

• Identifies and facilitates training opportunities for the Tooling group for all processes such as job performance, standard procedures, continuous improvement, quality and safety

• Prepares production and status reports, as per required.

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems

• Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.

• Evaluates production tool and dies according to specifications and quality standards.

• Ensure organizational capability through effective development of training and cross-training of tool & die makers.

• Ensure consistent execution of systematic practices through employee adherence to standardized procedures, daily accountability, safety, 5S+ and others.

• Support continuous improvement through effective deployment of assessment and continuous improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping, EHS Risk Assessments, Workstation Risk Assessment and other EBS tools.

• Establish processes to involve employees in decision making and continuous improvement and establish trust and credibility through follow up and effective communication forums (e.g., daily startup meetings (Tier Meetings), monthly department meetings)

Qualifications:

Basic qualifications:

• B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical or Tooling Engineering

• 5 years in tooling expertise and 2 of those as a leader of people or supervisory experience

• Strong background in tool and dies maintenance. Hand on ability troubleshoot equipment related to punch press/molding.

• Performance management, staffing, conflicts management, planification and coordination of task, coaching, empowerment, and feedback. Drives for results, Thinks and Acts Strategically, demonstrate leadership style, Builds organizational capabilities.
