Job Summary and Qualifications

Under direction of the HCA Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Technician II will perform high-level machine, automation, mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. They will support general maintenance and repairs for the Lakeland distribution center, including minor plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling and other building systems.

  • Preventative maintenance, machine modifications and general ground maintenance. Ensure operation of equipment, conveyor, automation, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Report all Maintenance KPIs, to include MTTR, MTBF, MTTF.

  • Experienced working with electrical single and triple phase power.

  • Understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment.

  • Experience with automation and electrical systems, PLC system software and hardware.

  • Root cause problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Follow practices for the safe operation, maintenance and repair of all facility equipment, including compliance with health, safety and OSHA programs, policies, procedures, reports.

  • Replace air conditioning filters, light bulbs, clogged drains, assemble furniture, equipment and perform general electrical repairs and other maintenance as needed.

  • Climb exterior attached ladder to inspect and basic trouble shoot roof top units.

  • Follow city, state, federal, and EPA air conditioning and refrigeration record keeping requirements and procedures are met as to the maintenance, service, repair, and disposal of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and refrigerant.

  • Replace light bulbs, clogged drains, assemble furniture, equipment and general electrical repairs and other maintenance.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

  • Assess needs for repair and maintenance of the facility, conveyors and automation components both through surveying and receiving requests from various departments (i.e. administrative, production, facilities, and visitors).

  • Periodic quality checks on facility, conveyor, automation systems and components to ensure functional operability.

  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.

  • Implement the tasks set forth in preventative maintenance procedures as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Ability to plan and schedule repairs within the day-to-day operations of the distribution center environment.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with all areas and departments to ensure department managers are aware of maintenance requests that have been requested as well as maintenance activities currently in progress.

  • Input relevant work into excel form or CMMS system for tracking and trending by management team.

  • Taking inventory of maintenance parts and supplies and notifying Maintenance Manager of low or depleted items. Ensures all safety related performance goals are achieved.

  • Resolve basic facility maintenance/repairs of entrances, restrooms, docks, doors, etc.

  • Inspect and replace all damaged pallet racking.

  • Train on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

  • Support all MHE battery extractions as needed.

  • Keeps storage areas, tools, and equipment secure at all times.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency Preferred

  • 3-5 years relevant maintenance work experience in a distribution center setting. Required

  • Proficient in managing general, facilities, equipment and systems maintenance. Required

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Required

  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker a plus. Preferred

Licensing and Certifications:

  • Certificate in a building trade, building maintenance technology or relevant field. Preferred HVAC Excellence Certification Preferred

  • The Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) Preferred
