The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Network Administrator to support our government customer located in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily supervision, leadership, and mentorship to a team of technical professionals to ensure that all network and infrastructure support requirements for the NEC at USAG-KA are met in accordance with PWS-defined service levels.

  • In addition to supervisory duties, provide hands-on support as a technical contributor as required for the NEC to:

  • Monitor the common user ICAN and LAN by utilizing enterprise management software to monitor network performance, analyze network activity, and maintain network availability.

  • Perform network discovery and conduct fault analysis. This service shall be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, less authorized service interruption.

  • Conduct event management on common user network infrastructure and monitor services.

  • Manage common user network equipment/software, to include configuration management and capacity management.

  • Maintain an effective and efficient configuration management/configuration control program for DoDIN unclassified and classified systems to ensure all hardware and software are properly identified and documented, and that proper change control procedures are in place and followed.

  • Operate and maintain common core (backbone infrastructure) network infrastructure equipment.

  • Implement and operate common user port authentication IAW Army Enterprise guidance; for example, 802.1x.

  • Develop specifications for network equipment and installation infrastructure in support of Military Construction, Army (MCA) projects, Unspecified Minor Military Construction, Army (UMMCA) projects, and local minor construction/renovation/expansion projects.

  • Maintain records of registered DNS registrations and set standard naming conventions for DNS registrations.

  • Provide project management for all Network and IT Infrastructure projects required by the 30th Signal BGE at USAG-KA.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, not required and at least 4 or more years’ experience in a relevant role.

  • Required 8570.01-M Baseline and Computing Environment (CE) certifications for IAT-II.

  • Must possess and maintain certifications IAW AR 25-2 

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong technical aptitude, ability to research, and solve complex issues independently.

  • Significant experience working with Windows servers and network monitoring tools.

  • Proven experience in network administration, routing and switching.

  • Ability to relocate and reside at the USAG-KA in the RMI. You must meet current vaccination requirements for infectious diseases to enter the RMI. Must also be willing to meet any future vaccination requirements if mandated by the RMI. 

  • Pre-employment health screening is required due to the island's remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities.

  • Ability to ride a bicycle or walk at least 2 miles to/from work daily. There are no personally owned vehicles allowed on USAG-KA. Transportation is primarily by bicycle.

  • Ability to travel by plane or small sea-going vessel between working locations.

  • May be required to work overtime.

  • Rotational callback and emergency duty are requirements of this position.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • TOP SECRET security clearance to access classified information.

  • Valid U.S. Passport.
