Project Engineer – Product Engineering, Age & Ability

The primary responsibility of our Project Engineer is to bring products from initial concept to production as part of a highly collaborative cross-functional team that values your unique perspective and expertise. The Project Engineer will combine strong technical and communication skills with creativity and passion for innovation to ensure the highest level of quality and experiences for our customers while shaping the future of bathing and styling space.

In this role, you will:

•Leverage your engineering fundamentals and creative problem-solving skills to design innovative, cost effective, and highly functional bathing and styling space products that lead our industry and delight our customers.

•Determine the technical feasibility of new product concepts.

•Collaborate with global cross-functional teams including marketing, program management, industrial design, and operations to develop innovative solutions and deliver quality products on time and within budget.

•Partner with our global engineering organization to capture knowledge, share best practices, and provide feedback on designs and deliverables.

•Study market trends, customer reviews, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to identify future opportunities for innovation and enhancement.

•Consider diverse perspectives to optimize solutions.

•Recommend actions and drive alignment cross-functionally to launch products that address diverse customer experiences and abilities.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Provide high-level feasibility analysis on initial product concepts.

•Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stacks, and develop detailed technical drawings, incorporating engineering standards and GD&T.

•Conduct and attend Technical Design Reviews, Failure Mode and Effect Analyses, and brainstorming sessions and contribute professional opinion, creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design and development projects. Utilize these tools to identify and mitigate risk.

•Study market trends and understand current warranty metrics to develop a product specification using consumer research, market data, and customer feedback.

•Evaluate designs for environmental sustainability and recommend improvements.

•Utilize CAD software for the realization of concepts or designs.

•Validate product features and production and make necessary design modifications based on results.

•Structure and coordinate the creation of detailed engineering designs, product specifications, bills of material and customer-facing documentation in support of new product launches while ensuring compliance to industry and internal requirements.

•Share your experiences through documented insights fostering knowledge-sharing across the global development organization.

•Use speaking, writing, and listening skills to effectively share information, communicate results, express opinions, and motivate others to act.

Skills/Requirements:

Project Engineer Level:

•Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology

•Minimum of 2 years of mechanical engineering experience.

•Previous experience in new product design and existing product optimization-preferred

•Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling.

•Ability to test, analyze and solve technical problems with limited guidance from senior engineers

•International and domestic travel as needed

Sr Project Engineer Level:

•Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology

•Minimum of 4 years of mechanical engineering experience.

•Previous experience with new product design and existing product optimization - preferred

•Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling.

•Assumes responsibility for all engineering project work and coordinates sub-tasks appropriately

•Independently test, analyze and solve technical problems

•International and domestic travel as needed
