Eaton Corporation Maintenance Manager in Horseheads, New York

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager. This position is based at our Horseheads, NY facility. Relocation and company sponsorship will be offered to candidates currently residing within the US/PR.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Maintenance Manager will partner with Engineering, EHS, and Production Leaders to successfully develop and execute the facilities capital project plan and strategy as well as support the facilities Factory 4.0 strategy. They will establish, develop, and execute the maintenance department goals and strategy to complement overall goals.

  • Direct analytical problem solving, root cause analysis and creativity/innovation to improve key business drivers utilizing an ELSS manufacturing approach.

  • Develop strategic improvement plans for site maintenance including plant infrastructure, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, instrumentation, electrical and control systems.

  • Lead and develop maintenance supervisors and hourly employees to facilitate the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Oversee equipment maintenance in a productive and safe manner.

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance knowledge and proficiency of various maintenance technician functions

  • Drive continuous improvement of world class Maintenance Management Systems that will help improve equipment uptime.

  • Assure that safe work procedures are established and followed with maintenance and outside contractors.

  • Direct plant-wide maintenance activities including budgets, preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Assure effective maintenance practices and optimized uptime of all production and facility equipment while maintaining forecasted budget.

  • Effectively manage scheduled and unscheduled resource demands to maximize plant/equipment uptime.

  • Cross train to understand and analyze facility requirements for compressed air, in house electrical distribution, HVAC, re-circulating water, and building grounds maintenance.

  • Facilitate spare part management system to ensure machine uptime and meet forecasted budgets.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Strong inter-personal skills to effectively communicate and work with all levels of the organization

  • Strong leadership skills integrating safety into day to day operations

  • Demonstrated ability to drive change in a leadership position with excellent communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code and Electrical Safety Requirements

  • Experience integrating and enforcing rules and requirements including but not limited to confined spaces, electrical safety, machine safety (guarding), hazardous energy (LOTO), power industrial trucks and other mobile equipment, fall protection standards, facility fire protection standards, hazardous waste and refrigeration management.

  • Knowledge of precision machining and/or assembly

  • Knowledge of methods and work standards in maintaining efficiency, flexibility and safety of workforce

  • Problem solving skills
