Job Description Summary

The Hybrid-Electric team in Munich is looking for a student with a background in Electrical Power Systems & Aviation Engineering. The working student will support the Hybrid-Electric team in the field of aircraft electrification with focus on electrical propulsion concepts for aircraft, electric power distribution and system conceptual design & analysis while considering power electronics, system control and energy storage integration.

The student will be responsible for the planning, execution, and presentation of project results under the supervision of a dedicated mentor in the team. The task will involve modeling and assessment of hybrid-electric power distribution sub-systems like DC/DC converters, electrical drives, energy storage systems and their control, and power cables.

Job Description

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Studying on the Master semesters of Electrical Engineering or similar, preferable control system and power electronics background

  • Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink or PLECS

  • Knowledge about power electronics (i.e., DC/DC converters, Battery, Inverter)

  • Experience in the design of control systems for DC/DC converters and/or Inverters for motor control

  • Ability to work in cross-functional global team in multi-cultural environments

  • Fluency in English

Desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge of aviation aspects of electric propulsion power distribution systems

  • Self-directed, highly motivated, quick learner, flexible attitude, strong communication skills

  • Identify improvement opportunities and be able to communicate them to the team

  • Keen listener, proven facilitation and collaboration skills

  • Passion for technology advancement
