The Lead Instructor/Supervisor of Light Rail Maintenance of Way is responsible for the planning, implementation, tracking and direction of the skilled trades technical training programs with the Light Rail MOW division. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the Drug and Alcohol Policy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs and administers the Light Rail MOW Certification/Recertification Programs in the Signal, Track, and Traction Power disciplines. Develops and administers the protocols which qualify individuals for the performance of inspection, conditional assessment, maintenance and repair activities of Signal, Track, Traction Power, Communications and Electrical infrastructure. Directs the Light Rail MOW Commercial driver licensing and safety programs. Responsible for the contract administration and direction of third party technical training content developers. Serves as key contributor in regulatory compliance audits conducted by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission, Federal Transportation Administration and Internal Safety organizations and is involved in the creation and implementation of any Corrective Action Plans. Reviews and approves technical data on new vehicles and equipment maintenance manuals, parts manuals and drawings, assesses training needs related to new equipment and technology and develops and implements programs to satisfy these needs. Evaluates engineering changes and retrofits and distributes engineering change orders and test notifications. Develops and maintains standards and procedures that integrate maintenance training and quality assurance for equipment and systems and prepares troubleshooting and operating procedures on specialized and test equipment for Light Rail MOW groups. Maintains maintenance reference library with the latest revised manuals and procedures for the Light Rail MOW division and prepares maintenance bulletins describing technical information and procedures. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in related technical field. A minimum of three years of experience in developing and coordinating electrical/mechanical training. A minimum of three years of experience in electrical and mechanical concepts and electrical technology from microprocessors to high voltage. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver License with Class B. Proficiency in various systems on the alignment, such as grade crossings, signal systems, substations etc. Proficiency in work orders requirements and system procedures. Proficiency in certification program/procedures; federal/state/local statutory requirements and regulatory constraints Proficiency in technical training and post-secondary training teaching methods. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn to navigate in Oracle and the Enterprise Asset Management system within three months. Ability to communicate effectively through verbally and written means. Ability to use sound judgment. Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details. Ability to work flexible hours at various locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
