Job Summary

The Corporate Development Associate plays an integral role in executing the strategic vision of Trane Technologies. In this role, you will support all elements of the company-wide corporate development process for acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures, including target analysis, valuation, due diligence, negotiations, contract management, integration, and planning.

The principal purpose of the Corporate Development Associate is to provide financial analysis and modeling/valuation support to executive decision makers to assess inorganic growth opportunities. Based in our Davidson, NC headquarters, this role reports directly into the VP, Corporate Strategy and will have an enterprise-wide scope of responsibility.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Davidson, NC location.

Core Job Responsibilities:

· Partner with business leadership to evaluate M&A opportunities ranging from small (revenue $10M+) to large (revenue >$1B)

  • Participate in all areas of due diligence with both internal and external parties from start to finish

  • Develop valuation models, materials, and recommendations by conducting comprehensive financial analyses, utilizing appropriate valuation methods, and preparing insightful valuation overview and analysis materials for senior executive audiences

  • Build financial analysis, financial modelling, and complex valuation models to evaluate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform business decisions

  • Inform transaction strategies, including deal pricing and structure through the use of primary and secondary data and publicly available information

  • Develop communication materials for executive leadership, CFO, CEO, and board of director reviews

  • Present to company leaders on corporate development items, including acquisition pipeline activity, potential dispositions, potential targets, diligence updates, and recommended actions

  • Support deal negotiations by working with legal partners to draft and negotiate contracts and closing documents

  • Coordinate workstreams with Business Unit and functional personnel and synthesize input on opportunities and risk

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, competitive intelligence, or corporate development

· Strong financial acumen; experienced in modeling and detailed financial analysis

Base Pay Range: $90,000- $120,000 / year.
