What you’ll do:

The Data Migration Architect for Unity System will focus on building strategies and implementing solutions for cycle time reduction and staffing optimization. The role is part of the Data Services team which oversees all data migration initiatives into SAP ERP, ensuring high quality, customer-focused and in-time delivery of data migration.

The primary responsibilities will be:

  • Own and control the data migration function within ECC platform. Work with the IT peers to ensure that the data migration strategy aligns with the designed ERP processes.

  • Risk review and resource need based on requirements and capacity planning.

  • Measure, improve, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-wide ERP-based application systems and driving the creation and maintenance of data migration standards, processes, guidelines, and procedures

  • Ensure consistency and reusability of solutions across different initiatives, aligning processes with the other parties (DM Architects, Governance councils, deployment programs)

  • In depth knowledge of Data Migration tool inventory, able to suggest a technical solution and understand the feasibility of using certain solution

  • Use Signavio to model data migration related processes and input on adiacent processes that data team is involved

  • Plan and execute the data migration strategy – understanding the source data – the mapping rules – and the upload routines. Partner with IDM team to align on governance and cleansing strategy.

  • Support on-boarding process by leveraging access to data migration related systems

  • Coordinate large teams of contractors in single or parallel implementations across ESA program

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, to critically evaluate the data presented and mapped from the multiple sources, reconcile data conflicts, decompose high-level data into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding.

  • Continually learn new modules, ETL tools and programming techniques to provide value to our business by enhancing self-knowledge and capability

  • Maintain awareness of new technologies that are relevant to our environment at Eaton.

  • Established as a key data leader at Enterprise level

Qualifications:

  • University Degree of a relevant field

  • Over 4 years of ERP Data Migration experience

  • People Management experience

  • Full-lifecycle ERP Implementation project experience

Skills:

  • Development skills in strategic ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)

  • Deep knowledge about data migration tools (BODS, IS)

  • ECC ERP functional skills in different areas

  • Strong Analytical skill for complex problem solving, demonstrated ability to understand the business problem and to use analytical skills to research and resolve

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex business processes and systems and how these relate to data requirements

  • Experience interfacing with all levels of IT professionals and business customers

  • Excellent analysis and documentation skills, including prototyping

  • Excellent communication (English oral and written) and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and team work skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Capability to manage, mentor, coach a team of analysts

  • Strong planning skills – ability to plan resources and monitor progress against assigned tasks.
