The primary focus of the Validation Engineer (Change Leader) is to facilitate archiving and change process control for all Thermo Fisher Scientific engineering data.

The position collaborates closely with the Engineering department, Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM), R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, and Global Technical Service (GTS) groups within MSD and suppliers to archive and maintain engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates selection, prioritization and execution of engineering changes within the Engineering Organization.

  • Works with engineering managers to ensure accurate resource allocation to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO) within agreed timelines.

  • Leads local Product Improvement Board (PIB) meetings and participates in Global PIB meetings as needed to ensure appropriate technical inputs, global teamwork and visibility for complex changes.

  • Develops close relationships with Manufacturing, Logistics, Sourcing, NPI/SPR Engineering, GTS, PLM, Quality and R&D to adequately resolve technical conflicts

  • Supports MSD Global Operations & Global Technical Service with product critical issues and/or ECO implementation as vital.

  • Ensure that ECO process WIP, cycle time and other targets are being met for their respective product line. Monitor, control and deploy performance metrics accordingly.

  • Initiate and leads multi-functional improvement and other Operations projects from inception to completion.

  • Acts as an advisor and role model to peers and project resources to meet schedules and resolve TPD challenges.

  • Facilitates Change Review Boards review and approves implementation plans for engineering changes to ensure plans have a positive return on investment and minimum disruption to Factories and Service.

  • Is responsible for management of ThermoFisher Engineering data reporting, optimization of Engineering processes and interfaces to other departments.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

  • CAD experience and drafting in a engineering/manufacturing environment is an advantage.

  • Proven proficiency in creation of technical product documentation and reports using common Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications.

  • Ability to provide clear and concise analysis of data, systematic problem solving and basic experimental methods, test protocols and procedures that include multiple factors (e.g. first article testing, risk analysis)

  • English in at least written form and local language (verbal and in writing).

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills.
