Western Kentucky University Dairy Technician in Bowling Green, Kentucky

The Dairy Technician will aid in the day to day operations of WKU's Smart Holstein Lab. The lab is an operational dairy that showcases new technologies that are being introduced to the Dairy Industry that includes around 55 milk cows. This position will help care for the livestock at the Dairy Unit to include milking, feeding, and managing animal waste. In addition, this person will help care and manage facilities and equipment associated with the Lab and help the Dairy Manager supervise student workers. Finally, this person will be involved in forage and crop production associated with the lab and will be asked to assist other University Staff at AREC to complete larger tasks/projects.

Job Requirements:

  • BSc in agriculture or related field OR three years experience with cattle

  • Lift 50 pounds

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to operate large equipment

    Additional Information:

Hourly Range: $14.00 -$16.41
