Salary Range: $83,000-$120,000 USD per year

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site involved in research and development of polymer products for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, West Bethesda. Duties include, but not limited to:
Research and development of polymer products for naval use
Identify means of quantifying polymer aging effects
Study adhesive performance for developmental polymer formulation
Manage laboratory equipment and qualify new mixing equipment
Design and manufacture molds to produce prototype
Produce technical documents and reports
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Material Science
Experiences with polymer processing is a plus
2 – 5 years of DoD laboratories or industrial experiences are desired
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge in polymer products and characteristics
Familiar with industrial safety requirements
Aptitude and desire for hands on work
Good leadership and organizational skill
Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus
