SUMMARY OF THE POSITION Product Engineering position for an individual with education and experience in mechanical design engineering (BSME/BSMET) supporting design activities in new product development and continuous improvement on the Liberty Pumps Engineering Products (LEP) Team. This role requires a selfmotivated, hands-on technical professional whose abilities include organizational skills, attentional to detail, creative problem-solving, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Become familiar with the Liberty Pumps Product Engineering Project Design and Development procedures and all the concepts therein. Develop a strong understanding of Liberty Pumps product portfolio and their respective markets. Develop understanding of product certification processes and participate in coordination activity. Stay abreast of industry codes and standards, changes, and communicate as required. Understand the Liberty Pumps Quality Statement and incorporate it into his/her skillset for product design and development. Become familiar with the Liberty Pumps ISO 9001 forms and work instructions and their relevance to Product Development, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management. Become familiar with Liberty Pumps manufacturing process capabilities and assembly methods. Work closely with manufacturing engineering to develop new assembly processes and improve existing ones. Lead activities related to continuous improvement of product designs to facilitate efficiency improvements, quality improvements, and customer value. Work with other LEP Product Development Engineers on product line expansion projects. Support LEP Sales Team and Customer Service related to LEP products and information. Maintain awareness of vendor, manufacturing, and field quality performance, and incorporate countermeasures in new and improved product designs. Develop and maintain an open, professional working relationship with all internal Liberty Pumps departments and individual members. Develop and maintain an open, professional working relationship with external Liberty Pumps partners and vendors. Exercise engineering techniques and skills including teamwork, group presentations, project timelines, and brainstorming activities. Become familiar with tools such as CFD, FEA, rapid prototyping, etc. and their applications and use as needed. Maintain a strong engineering skillset and knowledge of best practices through trade journals, professional technical classes, seminars, etc. Become familiar with use and maintenance of ERP system for managing BOMs, revision info, etc. Occasionally help direct the efforts of the Engineering Co-Op students with the guidance of the Product Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering. Participate in and lead systematic improvement efforts related to products and processes. Stay familiar with all Liberty Pumps processes required for tracking projects, documentation, etc. Must have the ability to lead projects from concept through production release being familiar, and skilled at all the necessary steps to get there. Maintain expert skills related to design, assembly, and detailing using SolidWorks CAD software and EPDM. You will be expected to operate according to ISO 9001 requirements. Held responsible and accountable to follow safety guidelines, maintain a clean and organized work area and use good safety judgement. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Science in mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) from an accredited institution.
