We are looking for a Product Manager with expertise in building scalable distributed systems with a proven track record for driving end-to-end product development and adoption. This role requires working knowledge of Linux based file systems and expertise engaging actively with the Linux Open-Source communities. You will be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience with the opportunity to deeply collaborate with partner teams both internal and external to Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive and track success criteria of a feature group. You’ll also identify short-term investment opportunities and collaborate with partners to garner support for that feature group.

  • You will research customer & partner scenarios and industry trends, understand customer requirements, and translate them into viable product roadmaps, strategy, delivery plan and track execution.

  • You will drive end-to-end product development including new ideas, product specifications, user experience, price-performance model, go to market plan and growth initiatives to remove friction in the customer experience.

  • You will collect and analyse performance metrics and usage patterns to incrementally improve product development in specific areas. You’ll also learn to manage customer communities and help build trust with targeted customers.

  • You will collaborate with other Product Managers to build on their scenarios and to utilize data as a tool for extracting the insights around customer adoption of a feature set and drive next set of improvements that increase the adoption of the service.

  • You will work with Product Marketing to help build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the feature you worked on and present at small events.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines AND 4+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience

  • building or working with Linux File systems,

  • AND with data-driven insights creation, strategy definition, and experimentation,

  • AND of successful design, delivery, and iteration on complex projects with a diverse set of stakeholders.,

  • AND working with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Quantitative and analytical skills, able to make informed tradeoffs, and able to break down and solve complex and often ambiguous problems.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR eqivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience

  • managing or contributing to Linux Open-Source communities,

  • AND in shipping large scale products to external customers,

  • AND in analytical problem-solving, with ability to work with virtual teams through ambiguity.

  • Knowledge of on-premises storage systems or storage performanc.

  • Technical background and foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design.
