We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Industrial Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in industrial design, with a proven track record of leading projects and mentoring junior designers – preferably for human centered design products. As a Senior Industrial Designer, you will play a key role in driving the exploration and execution of our baby gear products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conceptualize and develop new products having a higher than average level of difficulty and complexity

• Conversion of broader consumer insights into innovative design solutions across a multitude of media

• Ability to participate in programs that require direct contact with consumers through participation of qualitative research

• Work closely with Engineering to develop product specifications and validate prototypes

• Accountable for the successful design implementation of a major product from concept to completion

• Perform other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.

• 5 +years of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design, preferably in human-centered design products.

• Available for light travel if needed.

• Demonstrates ability to explain the appropriateness of a design solution via effective visual communications techniques.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams.

• Design Fundamentals: (Fully Operational) Strong capability in drawing, rendering (analog and digital), form development, color and materials theory, mechanical engineering, and model building.

• Industrial Design Research: (Working Knowledge) Experience conducting observational research within the context of design concept development projects.

• Ideation Facilitation : (Working Knowledge) Demonstrates understanding or experience of ideation process and emerging tools for idea generation. Experience facilitating multi-function groups through the ideation process is a plus.

• Study Models Ability to build prototypes. Working knowledge of materials and properties to achieve desired results. Soft-good experience/exposure a plus.

• Feasibility Engineering & Manufacturing (Working Knowledge) Demonstrates the importance of identifying engineering and manufacturing constraints early in the design development phases.
