Summary
The Department of Epidemiology at the U-M School of Public Health is looking for a Field Office Manager who will be the on-site manager for the BASIC Study, Brain Attack Surveillance in Corpus Christi. You will oversee project goals through regular review of data completed and employee productivity. You will also serve as the team's Quality Control coordinator and as back-up to the research content team lead. You will report to the Field Director.

Responsibilities*
Research Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Interviews : Actively participate in data collection from the medical record and participant interviews and phone calls. Work locations include hospitals, participants homes, nursing homes, etc. Provide work support when staff take time off.
Quality Control : Coordinate quality control review for accurate data collection and medical record abstraction process. Ensure all errors are corrected. Includes observing employees in the field, writing summaries of work performance, and providing verbal feedback to staff.
Study Protocols : Work closely with research content lead and Project Managers to develop study protocols based on short and long-term plans for the project. Implementprocess improvement initiatives amongst research staff. Track project and team progress with recruitment and data collection goals.
Reimbursement and incentive approvals : Review and approval mileage reimbursement for staff members. Process human subject incentive distribution and complete reconciliation accordingly.
Community Engagement : Establish and maintain relationships with community partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Day-to-day operations : Provide oversight of day-to-day operations of the BASIC study field research staff. Provide clarity and guidance on work assignments. Manage time off requests, approve. Work with Department HR on hiring needs and appointment changes. Conduct initial interviews, perform reference checks, and provide hiring recommendations. Troubleshooting challenges with staff, Project Managers and Principal Investigators.
Onboarding and training : Coordinate project-specific new hire onboarding and training sessions, ensuring regulatory training and administrations are completed in a timely fashion. Identify training gaps and facilitate ongoing training for staff as needed.
Performance Management : Oversee staff performance and ensure all staff are following office and research protocols. Provide ongoing feedback and progress check-ins to staff as needed. Facilitate the annual staff performance evaluation process.
Required Qualifications*
Associate's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience supervising staff members, including ensuring performance expectations are met and providing guidance on work assignments.
Demonstrated knowledge working with research projects including familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods of data collection and analysis would be beneficial in thisrole.

The position will be term-limited for one year, with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.
