We are looking for Maintenance Mechanics who are experienced, initiative-taking, and an expert mechanical troubleshooter to perform a variety of duties that involve the repair and maintenance of production machinery in support of manufacturing operations at our Angola, NY facility.

Job Duties Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, production machines and equipment, engines, motors, compressors, hydraulic units, conveyor systems, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Assist in resolving problems, delays, and difficulties with equipment. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools. Starts devices to evaluate their performance. Qualifies equipment for production run. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Determines preventive maintenance requirements and may perform PMs on occasion. May initiate purchase order for parts and machines. May repair electrical equipment.

Education/Skill Requirement HS diploma or GED required. Three to five (3-5) years of experience and/or training in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting. High mechanical ability and aptitude. Must possess a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment and/or basic knowledge of AC/DC application, 3 phase high voltage, and understanding PLC functions and manufacturing systems and controls. Must possess sound mechanical troubleshooting skills and demonstrate the ability to diagnose and correct mechanical malfunctions.

Physical Demands Standing or walking 70% of the time. Use of hands to assemble and conduct job functions. Occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying 21-50lbs. Sitting, bending, reaching, and stooping in the course of the job. Noise levels: moderate to high.

General Requirements Wear appropriate PPE whenever required. Using, and reinstalling guards, on machinery whenever required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess mechanical maintenance hand tools. Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled mechanical craftsperson.
