Savannah River Mission Completion Test Engineering & Technical Support Specialist (Senior or Principal) in Aiken, South Carolina

Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Test Engineering & Technical Support Specialist (Senior or Principal) to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

The Test Engineering & Technical Support Specialist in the Startup & Testing group provides startup/test engineering services on assigned SRMC Project Teams. Support services include design review, analysis, walkdowns, test procedure development and test procedure performance of project modifications. The Specialist provides Test Engineering support for day-to-day activities within all SRMC facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Planning

  • Support detailed phases of testing for a project, including input to design and construction for facility safety, testability, operability, and maintainability.

  • Develop, review and status project schedules as required for testing activities.

  • Support Engineering to determine the requirement of Test Acceptance Criteria (TAC), General Test Data (GTD), and Baseline Operating Data (BOD) criteria in the development of the Test Specification Plan (TSP) for the system/modification to be tested.

  • Develop test procedures, to ensure safe operations for the component/system being tested, providing auditable documentation of the test and to meet the criteria of the TSP.

  • Coordinate testing activities between Engineering, Construction, Maintenance, QA, RCO, IH and Operations.

  • Perform testing in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.

  • Conduct Pre-Test and Shift briefings.

  • Develop test summary documents (TSD).

  • Maintain certification as a Level II or Level III Test Engineer.

  • Support Vendor testing and associated activities.

  • Assist in preparation of operation or maintenance manuals.

  • Conduct assessments as required per SCD-4 "FA-16 Testing", the Standards Requirements.

  • Conceptual understanding of processes, systems, and equipment.

  • Support the completion of MSAs, FSAs, and RAs for project work.

  • Support internal and external audits and assessments as requested.

  • Support training of Operation and Maintenance personnel on new modifications.

  • Support procedures group in developing/modifying Operations and Maintenance procedures.

  • Working knowledge of design drawings, control logic diagrams, and electrical drawings.

  • Assist with development of engineering specifications for process, operations, calibration, material, and test equipment, installed or portable process instrumentation, or functional area systems.

  • Review and implement operating and calibration procedures and standards.

  • Monitor installation of new equipment, major equipment modifications, and various other major equipment issues which support processes, calibration, measuring, or site operations.

  • Plan and implement the testing of the defined process and design changes for new and existing processes, systems, and equipment.

  • Plan, prepare, write, sets up related test equipment as appropriate, and performs the Test Procedure.

  • Evaluate the validity and acceptability of test results.

  • Understanding of various facility processes, systems, and equipment.

  • Understanding of site work control procedures and practices for both maintenance and operations.

  • Understanding of work hazards, safety programs, operating configuration and lockout/hold identification.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree or High school diploma, with relevant operations, operations support, maintenance, or engineering experience work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in engineering or technical discipline

  • Level I or II test engineer certification

  • Ability to walk down and perform tests on systems in the field

Minimum Pay

USD $72,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $179,000.00/Yr.
